Trump v Biden: Latest Poll Results For Hypothetical Rematch

In a recent survey Siena College Research Institute by The New York Times and Siena College, Joe Biden and Donald Trump are neck-and-neck at 43 percent for the potential 2024 presidential election. Surveyed from July 23-27 with 1,329 registered voters, both leaders hold equal appeal for the presidency. Partisanship is evident with Trump and Biden securing 88 percent of Republicans and 83 percent of Democrats, respectively. However, Biden seems to have an edge among independents, gaining 42 percent to Trump’s 37 percent.

Siena College Research Institute Director Don Levy has stated:

“Yes, it’s early but here we go again. The first national New York Times/Siena Poll for the 2024 election cycle finds President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump locked in a 43-43% tie among registered voters,”

The parties stand solidly behind their candidates, with Biden leading Democratic endorsements and Trump favored in GOP primary polls. Despite this, both candidates are viewed unfavorably by over half the electorate. In terms of funding, Biden and the Democratic National Committee raised $72 million in Q2 2023, while Trump raised $53.8 million in the first half, but also spent $57 million. Biden is championing his “Bidenomics” strategy, associated with economic growth, though 54 percent disapprove of his job performance.

Conversely, Trump remains committed to his “America First” policy but faces several criminal investigations, including one about the 2020 election interference. The data paints a picture of a nation divided, with the upcoming 2024 election expected to be intense.
